<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That one and the one this friday (Sci-fi: Tooth and Claw) have outstanding effects. Hell I think the FX in Tooth and Claw were better than the ones in Van Helsing. I also think when they get to ones like The Girl in the Fireplace, Rise of the Cybermen(I)and The Age of Steel(II) they will be so hooked by the kick ass storylines and images that they will not have a thing to worry about.Originally posted by Gareee:

Yep. Granted there were some weak episodes in the first year, and they had a much smaller budget then, but this last season was just some of the best Dr. Who episodes to date.
We even bought the 12" Cyberman figure, even for $34 shipped, because we liked this last year so much.
People not watching this new series are really missing out on excellent tv!
To others: If ya can, Watch Tooth and Claw, and then re-judge the new Dr. Who series.

The Doctor meets some old friends, Sarah Jane Smith and K9, and Rose discovers the legacy of being a Time Lord?s companion.
Ans actually they are giving Sara Jane a 1 hour movie, and also a new series next year as well!

Supposedly they are going to tie Torchwood, Dr. Who, and the new Sara Jane series together in some fashion.
Bottom line though, is the new show has been so successful that it's spawning not one but TWO spinoffs!
The Cyberman VS Dalek storyline was some of the best Dr. Who to date.
